Emmerdale fans believe they have worked out who Caleb Milligan's (Will Ash) mystery accomplice really is and suspect he has a direct link to Kim Tate (Claire King).

Caleb arrived in the village on Christmas Day and fans recently learned of his plan to take back Home Farm, following the discovery that he is the son of Frank Tate (Norman Bowler).

Over the past few months, Caleb has made several calls to a mystery person called Adrian as he continues his scheme to take down Kim.

But despite the name Adrian, fans think the faceless character could actually be one that Kim is all too familiar with, suggesting it is her ex-husband Steve Marchant (Paul Opacic).

Making his debut in 1996, Steve eventually married Kim and the pair schemed to get their hands on Frank's money.

But things went horribly wrong between the couple as Kim eventually framed him and sent him to prison in 1999.

When Steve tried to steal and horse and sell it, the animal collided with Kathy Glover (Malandra Burrows) and almost killed her.

Wanting to silence her, Steve attempted to suffocate her in hospital but was stopped in his tracks by Kim.

The ruthless businesswoman managed to frame Steve for a robbery and hit and run which resulted in him being sentenced to 10 years in prison.

More than two decades later, fans believe the character could be back to finally take his revenge and has teamed up with Caleb to execute his plan.

Sharing their thoughts online, one fan wrote: " "Ah….but what if Adrian was someone else? Someone who did know Kim and took the rap for her little horse stunt…24 years ago?"

"Emmerdale should bring back Steve Marchant into the story with Caleb or a new storyline involving him, who agrees?," shared a second.

While another viewer added: "Another fan said: "Obvs always here for Steve Marchant content."
