Fans of Emmerdale think they've "worked out" Caleb's really identity after the return of Alex, who they believe he could be related to.
Emmerdale viewers had been under the impression Caleb – who arrived in the village on Christmas Day – is Cain Dingle's brother, but now they're not convinced.
Caleb has turned his attentions to Kim Tate, who he appears to be intent on bringing down, and fans think a mystery phone call has revealed his true identity.
Additionally, the return of Alex to the village has made fans think that he and Caleb could be related – whether father and son, brothers or uncle and nephew . the latest theory is that Caleb is out for revenge, after Kim and Will held Alex hostage and beat him up.
During Caleb's mystery phone call, he told the person on the other end that he was "reeling" someone in.
He added: "We’re finally making headway. We keep reeling him in until we get exactly what we want."
One Emmerdale viewer tweeted: "I think Caleb and Alex are brothers, and that's why he wants revenge on Kim and Will for holding Alex hostage," while another said: "Alex looks similar to Caleb."
Another said: "#Emmerdale fans – could Caleb be Alex’s dad? He’s been on the phone with a mystery person, and Alex is back for a Naomi storyline. Is Caleb taking revenge for what Kim and Will did to Alex? I’m not actually sure of the age of Caleb/Alex."
Emmerdale boss Jane Hudson previously revealed that Caleb is hiding a huge secret which viewers are yet to figure out.
She teased: "I can tell you he’s not an undercover cop. There is a secret about Caleb and viewers have not yet guessed it. I've been reading all the theories about who he is like not that one, not that one."
Numerous Emmerdale fans now think Caleb's target is Kim, as Caleb said that he didn't want anything getting "in the way of me taking it all and leaving them with nothing".
Others think Caleb he could be connected to some of the other Tates – either Jamie, Joe or Zoe – or to Nicky, the nanny for Gabby's baby.
Elsewhere in the Dales, much-loved character Paddy Kirk contemplated suicide in heartbreaking scenes.
The Emmerdale stalwart was sent into a downward spiral after finding out his wife Chas had cheated on him with Al Chapman, who was later gunned down.
