Emmerdale addressed the whereabouts of "missing" youngster Theo Metcalfe during the latest visit to the village.
David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) left the village last month after learning his ex Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) was now seeing his son Jacob Gallagher (Joe Warren Plant). Fans were left confused by David's emotional exit as his young Theo was nowhere to be seen.
However, fans learned while watching Tuesday's (December 12) episode that Theo was with his dad. Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) told Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell): "We're going to have a lovely family Christmas. I know David and Theo won't be there but Leyla popped in and invited you and me to join her and Jacob for Christmas Day si if that doesn't turn your frown upside down I don't know what will."

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: "Theo mentioned so they remembered him then." Another added: "Brenda saying about Theo? Have they forgotten him?? I'd call in social services as David didn't take him?" A third person posted: "Where is Theo." Someone else penned: "So the invisible Theo did go with David."
Actor Matthew confirmed back in September that he was leaving the ITV soap as David after 17 years after it was reported he was set to leave. The actor has bowed out of the role after joining the show in 2006 and Matthew broke down in tears on ITV daytime show This Morning as he confirmed the reports and watched back his best bits on the ITV soap.
David has been at the centre of some huge plots over the years, including his partner Maya Stepney grooming and sexually abusing his then-teenage son Jacob. David also battled testicular cancer in a hard-hitting storyline and nearly got killed off by village murderer Meena Jutla.
After watching his best bits on Emmerdale, Matthew got teary as he said: "That made me really emotional! I am so nervous about leaving, nearly 20 years, almost two decades. It feels like the right time, the door has been left open – they're not killing me off, I've been promised. Who knows, I might be back [in the future]. Yeah, but we will see."

Matthew then struggled to speak as he got choked up again, saying: "I'm still really emotional watching that" to which he was given a tissue, he added that Emmerdale is a "massive" part of his life."
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
