Emmerdale legend trounced by super fan in expert soap quiz | The Sun

EMMERDALE star Jeff Hordley got utterly trounced by a super fan of the soap in an official online quiz.

The ITV actor is best known for the role Cain Dingle in the long-running soap.

Jeff, 53, first joined the dales in March 2000 and although he was written out in 2006, he made a dramatic return three years later.

It's safe to say that due to the length of time he's spent in the soap, his knowledge would be pretty extensive.

Except when he was challenged for a behind-the-scenes game for Emmerdale's social media account, things did not go exactly to plan.

The star was sent to sit at a table behind the interior sets of the Yorkshire based serial drama.

Getting onto a high stool, he read the card that was placed ready for him: "Time to put your Emmerdale knowledge, general knowledge to the test.

"You'll go head-to-head with the Emmerdale expert, you'll both be getting five questions each and whoever answers the most correctly will win."

As he finished reading the game card he declared: "I like a challenge, bring in the expert!"

Archivist Tom Parfitt then made his way onto the set where Jeff was anxiously waiting to compete.

Whilst Tom got all five of his questions right, Jeff only answered tow questions correctly, to which he declared was "not bad".

However, fans still offered the actor support as they flooded the comments section with praise despite his seemingly poor performance.

One fan wrote: "Awh I had the privilege of meeting Jeff on a train a few months ago, and I can safely say he’s genuinely the kindest and loveliest person ever! 🥺💙."

A second fan exclaimed: "I only watch it for him 🥰🥰."

"I LOVE JEFF ❤️," penned a third.

And a fourth user joked: "Emmerdale version of who wants to be a millionaire without money 😂😂."
