Emmerdale return for Jamie Tate ‘sealed’ as star addresses soap comeback

Emmerdale: Jamie Tate falls over drunk and hits his head

Alexander Lincoln made his Emmerdale debut as Kim Tate’s (played by Claire King) son Jamie Tate in 2019.

He was last seen when he faked his own death after his car plunged off the road into a lake.

Months later, his mother was left heartbroken when she finally learned he was alive after all and had been lying to her.

Kim’s been through a lot this year after newcomer Caleb Milligan (Will Ash) and his son Nicky Milligan (Lewis Cope) tried to take over Home Farm and steal her money.

Luckily she caught Caleb out, but does Jamie know about all the drama his mother’s been through?

Jamie actor Alexander discussed his future in Emmerdale in a recent interview with Attitude.

“I loved the show,” he began. “I lived in Leeds for two and a half years. I miss everyone from the show deeply.

“No one knew who I was before it – I’d done some very tiny things. It was my initiation into the acting world. I can never thank them enough for that experience.

“But I don’t know, to be honest. There have been talks. But for now, I really want to focus on this year: I want to produce, start my own scripts.”

The actor said there are other parts he wanted to play and explained being on the show was “such hard work”.

In upcoming scenes, Kim and a handful of other villagers are suspected of pushing Caleb off a cliff to get their revenge.

Could Jamie return to the soap to defend Kim if she is accused of attempted murder?

Earlier this year, Rosie Bentham, who plays Gabby Thomas, spoke to Express.co.uk about Jamie’s potential return to the Yorkshire Dales.

“Jamie returning would be chaos,” she shared. “There’s a lot of things unsolved from when he was here and a lot of hurt would come back for Gabby.

“She thought they were getting married and he was playing her.

“I think it would cause a lot of chaos for her [Kim] as well and it would certainly rock the boat at Home Farm.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
