Emmerdales Cain infuriates Moira Barton as he leaves village behind with Caleb

Matthew Wolfenden cries on This Morning over his Emmerdale exit montage

In upcoming Emmerdale scenes, Cain Dingle (played by Jeff Hordley) asks Caleb Milligan (Will Ash) if he would like to get out of the village for a bit after receiving a mysterious text.

After a furtive phone call, Cain is determined to keep the reason for their road trip a secret from everyone around them.

So he asks Caleb to come up with an excuse for his wife Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) and watchful sister Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter).

Cain and Caleb make a pact to stick together as they head off on their mysterious road trip while Moira watches on.

However, Moira is not at all happy about the trip as she asked Cain not to leave the Yorkshire Dales.

Where are the two brothers heading off to and when will they return to Emmerdale?

Cain and Caleb did not get off to the best of starts when they were reacquainted last year on the ITV soap.

Earlier this year, Cain and Moira ended up feeling scammed by Caleb who sabotaged their business by putting nails in their burgers.

However, he later apologised and seems to be making amends with Cain and Moira.

Jeff, who plays Cain, previously said he would like his character to avoid tension for a while with other villagers.

He told Digital Spy: “I don’t think he needs a nemesis all the time! I think it would be nice to not have that for a while, to be honest – but I think they always like to put somebody against Cain.

“I’m quite happy for there to be no nemesis for the time being because then it makes life a little bit simpler!”

Will Cain and Caleb end up being the best of friends or is there another twist in store for the half-brothers?

Supersoap week is looming, so anything could happen this October or in the lead-up to Christmas.

Will the two men end up at loggerheads once again due to Caleb’s scheming?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
