Emmerdale: Nate and Mack have conversation about the baby
Emmerdale fans have been waiting for the moment Charity Dingle (played by Emma Atkins) discovers her husband Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) is the father of Chloe Harris’ (Jessie Elland) baby.
Mack and Chloe were hoping they would take their secret to the grave and save any heartache, but the penny finally drops for Charity tonight (Thursday, May 11) when she sees the pair in the hospital holding baby Reuben following a health scare.
Seeing her husband cradling Reuben in his arms makes her realise he was the baby’s father.
To rub salt in the wounds, Mack had a drunken one-night stand with Chloe not long after a heartbroken Charity had a miscarriage and was grieving the loss of her unborn child.
The Emmerdale stalwart’s world turns upside down the moment she realises the truth and Charity actress Emma has spoken out on filming that difficult scene of realisation.
The 48-year-old actress told Express.co.uk and other media about how her character reacted to the betrayal, explaining: “Well, the stage direction says it’s panic.
“I spoke to Nicola Wheeler because she’s a connoisseur of panic attacks.”
She added: “I mean, I’ve never been in that situation but I just feel like I connected to it because there’s so much history there.
“Like she’s finally put all our eggs in one basket with Mackenzie, she’s finally laid herself back and said, ‘You know what, I wasn’t gonna tell you about [Mark] Bails, you know, the historical abuse. But I think I’m ready to share my deepest, darkest secrets with you now.'”

Corrupt detective Mark Bails (Rocky Marshall) abused and raped Charity when she was a teenager and she felt she could open up to Mack about the trauma when she discovered he’d died.
Emma continued: “I put quite a bit of pressure on myself because it’s an iconic moment, isn’t it?
“You want to do it right and you want to make sure the audience can connect in that way and go, ‘Oh, did you see it when she found out because everybody’s waiting for the moment.'”
Charity has a lot of decisions to make, the biggest one being whether she will be able to forgive Mack and Chloe for their deceit.
Addressing Charity’s emotions, Emma explained: “I think I think she has such issues with trust with what she’s been through as a teenager.
“And again, I think that’s going to be even more exacerbated by the fact that she took Chloe under a wing and she can almost see a reflection of herself in this young teenage girl being pregnant.”
