Emmerdale’s messiest love triangles — from raunchy farm romps to arson revenge

Emmerdale fans can always count on the ITV soap to come through with a juicy, albeit messy love triangle storyline.

Throughout the years, fans have watched with their jaws on the floor as several of the Dales’ residents get up to no good. Some of the programme's most talked-about storylines have seen characters jump into bed with someone they really shouldn’t have.

From brothers stealing their siblings’ other half to saucy farm romps, the soap has had its fair share of tantalising love triangles. And the drama is heating up in the famous village this week again.

As viewers will know things have been up and down between Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) in recent times. And more drama is only to come for them.

While soap alum Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) has been a little jealous as of late, after ex Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) has found love again with ex-flame Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley).

So, as the chaos ensues over on Emmerdale, we’re taking a look inside the soap’s messiest love triangles.

Aaron, Robert and Chrissie

Back in 2015, this storyline became one of the most talked-about affairs in years. Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and Aaron Livesy (Danny Miller) started sleeping together while Robert was engaged to Chrissie White (Louise Marwood).

And it’s fair to say the pair got down and dirty. The two found any chance they could to bonk – from country lane kisses to romping on hay bales.

And in typical Emmerdale fashion, Chrissie soon found out about her beau’s illicit affair and got her revenge. As viewers will remember, she poured petrol over Robert’s car and set fire to it.

However, things took a turn for the worse when the fire reached some gas canisters which caused a massive explosion in the village. One of them then hit a flying helicopter which crashed into the famous town hall.

Charity, Cain and Moira

Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordey) first struck up a relationship. However, things ended when Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) came on the scene – with Cain starting a romance with her.

Moira managed to tame the village bad boy and the pair even got married. However, Charity vowed to win Cain back and her perseverance paid off.

When things started to go south for him and Moira, Cain ended up back in Charity’s arms. Moira eventually divorced Cain and Charity found herself dumped.

Ross, Debbie and Pete

Despite Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb) being his brother Pete Barton’s (Anthony Quinlan) fiancé, Ross Barton (Michael Parr) didn’t care and made it his mission to bed her. As executed, he got his way and the two then embarked on a saucy affair.

However, after she realised Ross was Moses’ father, she got married to Pete. But things never go smoothly in the village, and during their first dance, a recording of Ross and Debbie was accidentally played. The clip heard Ross and Debbie talking about their fling.
