ITV fans slammed the new Who Wants To Be A Millionaire spin-off show Fastest Finger First asking "what the f**k is this s**t?"

Many viewers complained that after giving the programme a chance, they were still struggling to understand it's purpose, branding the it an "absolute yawn fest".

Others chimed in that they were "switching off" after being left so bored by the format which sees Countryfile's Anita Rani in the hosting chair, quizzing potential hopefuls as they battle it out to make it onto Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

Over on Twitter, complaints and criticisms racked up, with one person fuelling the conversation as they commented: "#FastestFingerFirst I’m pretty sure that some of these people didn’t have to go through the vigorous questioning that my wife did before she went on #WWTBAM.

"Entertainment value is low I’m afraid. Anyway, came away with 1K and I got to meet and chat to a legend @JeremyClarkson."

Another raged: "What the f**k is this s**t? Switching off #FastestFingerFirst #itv."

A third echoed: "Still not sure about this programme. Quite a lot of faff just to get on Millionaire, and the canned applause is so irritating. #FastestFingerFirst."

A fourth agreed: "So, they've taken the dullest part of a popular show and given it an hour. Absolute yawn fest. #FastestFingerFirst."

While a fifth online user begged: "Bring back Winning Combination. #FastestFingerFirst is a load of crap. Completely bored already."

Others clearly disagreed with the negative comments and instead raved about the new series.

One tweet read: "Yes #fastestfingerfirst is on," and "get in it's 4pm #fastestfingerfirst."

The new host and television star Anita recently confirmed to Daily Star that she had not been in touch with Amazon Prime star Jeremy Clarkson about her new role.

With Jeremy being the star of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire it was anticipated that Anita may have reached out to the former Top Gear presenter for some words of advise – but that wasn't the case.

Confident in her own abilities, the 44-year-old told us exclusively: "I haven't caught up with him, but I like his farming show."
