First look at Michelle Keegan in gritty new Netflix drama Fool Me Once – and she's worlds away from Brassic | The Sun

NETFLIX has offered a first look at its gritty new drama Fool Me Once which stars Michelle Keegan.

The streaming giant has revealed the former Coronation Street and Our Girl actress will play the lead role in its new commission.


Viewers will see Michelle's character Maya Stern come to terms with the murder of her husband Joe.

But in a huge twist she soon discovers her husband isn't actually dead at all.

After installing a nanny-cam to keep an eye on her young child, she's shocked to recognise her husband in the house.

BAFTA award-winner Adeel Akhtar from Sweet Tooth will play the role of Detective Sergeant Sami Kierce, who is leading the investigation into the death.

Absolutely Fabulous star Joanna Lumley will also star in the drama, portraying Judith Burkett.

Meanwhile, Maya's niece and nephew, Abby and Daniel, are trying to find the truth about their mother's murder, several months earlier.

It remains to be seen whether both apparent murders are connected.

The new series will of eight, 60-minute episodes as it keeps with previous Harlan Coben adaptations by relocating the story from the US to the UK.

Filming has already begun in Manchester and the Northwest of England for the limited series.

Completing the cast lineup is Richard Armitage, Emmett J. Scanlan, Dino Fetscher, Marcus Garvey, Hattie Morahan, James Northcote, Dänya Griver, Daniel Burt, Adelle Leonce, Natalia Kostrzewa and Laura Gibbons.
