Forgotten Love Island finalists now – baby heartache, sad splits, quitting fame

Love Island 2022 has finally concluded and the nation has been introduced to the newest set of contestants who kept us gripped for eight weeks.

Over the years, the hit ITV2 show has produced some of the most stand-out stars, including the likes of mega star Molly-Mae Hague, Irish bombshell Maura Higgins, and last year's queen Millie Court.

But while there are several contestants that we will never forget, there are many islanders who landed a place in the final that may have slipped fans' minds.

Daily Star has rounded up a few islanders that viewers may have forgotten made it to the final of the show.

Paul Knops

Many will forget that Paul Knops was runner up of season four alongside Laura Anderson.

Despite leaving the villa in a seemingly happy couple, Paul brutally dumped Laura just two months after the show ended.

Paul, 35, said that he broke up with her because they "weren't compatible", however many accused him of "using" her during their time on the show.

Paul's ex-girlfriend supported these claims as she revealed he promised they would still be together after his stint on the show and was only taking part to further his modelling career.

The former reality star and carpenter, who hails from Bournemouth, has continued modelling but has opted for a life away from the cameras since he left the villa.

Paul is an avid poster on social media, sharing plenty of modelling shots with his 363k followers.

Josh Denzel

Josh Denzel appeared on season four of Love Island and finished in third place with then-girlfriend Kaz Crossley.

The two were together for around six months before going their separate ways.

In August 2020, Josh, 31, went public with his model girlfriend Ruby Wong and the pair are still going strong.

Prior to entering Love Island, Josh was a presenter for LADBible and SPORTbible.

Love Island boosted Josh's platform and elevated his career, having now worked with broadcasters like Sky Sports and BBC Sport.

During the 2020 Euro's, Josh hosted Lions' Den where he would invite a different member of the England squad for a behind the scenes chat.

Boasting more than 1.3million followers on Instagram, the presenter keeps fans up to date with his activities and his page is littered with snaps of him rubbing shoulders with the stars, including Anthony Joshua.

He also keeps in touch with fellow islanders Wes Nelson and Jack Fowler, frequently appearing on each other's social media pages.

Scott Thomas

Scott Thomas came third when he appeared on season two of Love Island back in 2016.

He found love with pocket rocket Kady McDermott and the pair moved in together shortly after leaving the show.

It wasn't meant to be however, and the pair went separate ways in August 2017.

Scott made a career change and recently launched a PR agency based in Manchester called The Social PR.

Their clients include former Love Island stars Mary Bedford and Jacques O'Neill, as well as brands like Filter By Molly-Mae and boohooMAN.

He is also the co-founder of wellness brand Food4Thoughts which helped him achieve the "transformation of a lifetime."

Scott boasts 995k followers on Instagram and regularly updates fans on his antics.

The former reality star is especially close to his family, sharing plenty of snaps spending time with brothers Ryan and Adam alongside their children.

Luis Morrison

Luis Morrison came in fourth place with then-girlfriend Cally Jane Beech during the first series in 2015.

He had been on original islander, while Cally Jane was a bombshell arriving at a later date.

The duo became the first Love Island couple to have a baby together after they welcomed their first child – a daughter, Vienna – in May 2017.

However they later split up, with Cally saying Luis was "no longer the guy I fell in love with".

They eventually reunited, however it wasn't meant to be as they split up once again.

Luis, who has 331,000 followers on Instagram, looks to have a busy life and lists the businesses Celebrity Cars and ACTIVE supplements in his bio.

In July 2021, he revealed that he and his new girlfriend Chloe Elizabeth were expecting a baby together.

However they broke up in June this year, just months after they welcomed their son Romeo, who was born 11 weeks premature.

Ched Uzor

Ched was a late arrival during the first ever winter series, and came in fourth place alongside one half of the Gale twins, Jess.

The duo carried on dating for a while after the show came to an end, however with the country plunged into the coronavirus lockdowns, things became strained.

Jess revealed in June 2020 that they had broken up, saying that they were "still good friends".

Ched reposted the statement on his own Instagram, with it also saying they had become "less close" due to the lockdown and isolation.

Nowadays, muscular Ched lists himself as an online coach "helping people feel more confident and look their best".

His Instagram, which features 278,000 followers, is filled with half-naked snaps in which Ched shows off his sculpted body.

He also features before and after shots of people who have enlisted his help with his Shred With Ched scheme.
