Former Strictly Come Dancing stars take swipe at ‘old’ Anton Du Beke

Vincent Simone takes brutal swipe at Anton Du Beke

Former Strictly Come Dancing pros Vincent Simone and Ian Waite have taken a sly dig at dancer-turned-judge Anton Du Beke.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain to promote their new tour, the Magic of Dance, the pair revealed that they hold a unique honour on the BBC’s ratings-topping show.

“We do have something that none of the other Strictly pros have – the size. You’re the biggest ever and I’m the smallest ever,” Vincent admitted as Ian laughed: “Well it has been said before.”

They then took the opportunity to take a swipe at the show’s judge.

“Well, we can never be the oldest Vince, that’s Anton Du Beke,” Ian said. Not to be outdone, Vincent cheekily enquired: “Is he still alive?”

Clearly in a giddy humour, the pair also managed to get host Richard Madeley to dance live on air.

Before the show went to an advert break, they showed the dad-of-two a few steps of Latin dance as he practised the Samba with them while one-time Strictly Come Dancing contestant Kate Garraway looked on.

Vincent appeared on Strictly Come Dancing from series four in 2006 until the 10th series in 2012.

Meanwhile, Ian appeared on seven series of the show beginning in 2004, finishing as runner-up in his debut year with his partner Denise Lewis.

Neither of them ever lifted the Glitterball Trophy during their time on the show.
