SAMMY Root has been slammed by Love Island viewers after "shooting his shot" with Maya Jama on After Sun.
The 22-year-old appeared on Love Island After Sun via video link from the Beach Hut and couldn't first a flirty comment to Maya, 28.
Presenter Maya was explaining the rules of game Fib or Fact to Sammy and asked: "Are you ready?"
He replied: "Fire away, beautiful."
As the audience laughed Maya said: "OK, chill out."
Fans took to Twitter to comment on the moment, with many insisting he's never shown that much interest in Jess Harding.

Speaking about what was said on the Pop Off Podcast, Mal said: "Sammy was so loud. He was so loud and I was literally about to say 'you need to speak quieter.
"He was going in like about how he wasn't attracted to Jess… and Jess heard."
Mehdi Edno, who was dumped on the same day as Mal, said: "Oh my god."
Mal asked: "Do you remember that? That was awful and I went and I was like 'You need to apologise to her'."
