Gogglebox stars the Siddiquis reveal why they won't star in any other shows – and the only reason they would quit | The Sun

GOGGLEBOX originals The Siddiquis have spoken out and admitted what would be the only reason they would quit the Channel 4 show.

The long-running programme is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary and the Siddiqui family have been at the heart of the show ever since the beginning.

Despite cast members coming and going over the years, including stars seeking bigger TV opportunities such as Scarlett Moffatt or those axed after just one series like Chantelle Walker, Derby based the Siddiquis have remained a mainstay and have admitted that they have no plans to change that just yet.

Father of the group, Sid, and his three sons, Raza, Umar and Baasit have spent ten years watching the top telly programmes alongside the rest of the nation and have no opened up on why it is so important for them to remain committed to the show.

In a new chat with the RadioTimes, Raza reveals that the family hope to be compared to the Coronation Street character, Ken Barlow, whom has appeared in the ITV soap opera since the beginning in 1960.

Raza said: “We want to get to the Ken Barlow/Rita Sullivan [of Coronation Street] level, where we’re ubiquitous with that show."
