Good Morning Britain host in snub as he ditches PM debate to watch Love Island on his phone | The Sun

A GOOD Morning Britain host has admitted that he snubbed the PM debate to watch Love Island on his phone.

Ed Balls was joined by Charlotte Hawkins to host the ITV news programme on Tuesday morning when he made the shock admission about his evening viewing.

Former politician Ed, 55, revealed he is a fan of the ITV2 dating show and regularly gives his opinion on the previous night's events.

However, he shocked his co-star Charlotte, 47, when he admitted he switched his focus from the Tory leadership debate last night.

It saw Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss go head-to-head in a debate in Stoke-on-Trent in the race for leadership this autumn.

Ed admitted that he couldn't choose between the two programmes as the debate aired at the same time as Love Island.

He joked that he had to "stop" watching the leadership debate as he couldn't believe what he was witnessing on screen.

"After all this training with this earpiece, I can now watch Love Island," Ed admitted of his simultaneous watching.

"There was a moment when they started playing the recorder and I had to stop watching the debate because it was just too distracting."

He snapped: "Well I’ll bring you up to speed if you’ll let me and I’ll bring you up with the nitty gritty of it."
