The cast of the West End stage adaptation, which was held at London’s Theatre Royal earlier this year, are hopeful their successful run will be turned into a televised screening.
Paul Whitehouse, who took on the roles of Grandad and Uncle Albert in the stage adaptation, expressed his excitement over the possibility, saying: “We’d love to do a TV version of the stage show and we think it would work well.
“Our story involves both Granddad and Uncle Albert, Del Boy meeting Raquel and Rodney and Cassandra getting married so we basically condense the seven television series into two hours and 10 minutes.”
Acknowledging they “can’t compete with the original show,” he added: “It would be lovely to see our version adapted for television.”
‘Only Fools and Horses: The Musical’ was adapted from the beloved BBC sitcom, and captures the escapades of Del Boy, Rodney and the rest of the Trotter clan.
The cast included Tom Bennett and Ryan Hutton as Del Boy and Rodney, Ashleigh Gray as Raquel, Nicola Munns portraying Marlene and Cassandra, Craig Berry as Boycie, Lee VG playing Trigger, Adrian Irvine as Denzil, and Danny Bayne taking on the roles of Mickey Pearce and Danny Driscoll, with Andrew Bryant performing as Mike The Barman and Tony Driscoll.
Paul, who took over from Les Dennis, previously said: “It’s been an unbelievable four years for the whole cast of the Only Fools musical. We’ve consistently played to packed houses and received standing ovations night after night – the audiences have been incredible.”
