Holly Willoughby looked rather worried on Thursday's episode (June 29) of ITV's This Morning when she found out that her co-star ended up in hospital after becoming addicted to vaping.

It was Holly and Craig Doyle hosting the show together again on Thursday, where they spoke to show regulars Nicola Thorp and LBC's Nick Ferrari about the latest headlines.

The group spoke all manner of topics, including Madonna being rushed into intensive care at the weekend with a bacterial infection, and reports that reports that school children are skipping lessons to vape in the toilets.

Schools have been forced to replace their smoke alarms with heat sensors as vapes from the students keep setting them off.

Introducing the segment, Holly said: "We know that lots of shops have been accused of selling vapes to younger people and there is a real market for this."

But Nicola revealed that the topic is close to her heart as she is an ex-smoker who used to vape as a means of getting off of cigarettes.

She replied: "I'm really torn on this. I'm almost embarrassed to say that I'm an ex smoker and vaping was the only thing that got me off cigarettes."

And Holly looked taken aback when Nicola confessed that her vaping addiction got so bad that she ended up in hospital.

Nicola explained: "I became so addicted to vaping that I ended up in hospital."

Holly, visibly shocked by her colleague's vaping disaster, gasped: "Did you really?".

Nicola continued: "I had such an elevated heart rate and they put a heart monitor on me and said, 'How much are you vaping?'.

"Now, I thought these little disposable things were quite harmless, but it's about 60 cigarettes worth of nicotine in a day.

"Okay, it doesn't have the tar, it doesn't have the other chemicals in it, which is a good thing, but it's not good for your body. And I quit and I feel great."
