Holly Willoughby supported by famous friends and co-stars as she quits This Morning

Celebrities from across the world of showbiz have shown their support forHolly Willoughby aftershe revealed that she was stepping back from This Morning after 14 years on the show.

Holly, who joined theThis Morning team back in 2009, announced that she was leaving the show in an emotional Instagram post which she shared online on Tuesday 10 October and has since been supported by her famous friends.

As part of the heartfelt statement,the TV personality explained that she’d made the decision “for me and my family” and paid tribute to viewers at home for their support over the past decade.

Responding to Holly’s statement, fellow This Morning starAlison Hammond said that it was a “sad day” to hear the news.

“This is a very sad day ! Love you [heart face emoji],”she wrote.

Meanwhile,Rochelle Humes added: “This is a sad day [crying and heart emoji] We love you x.”

Carol Vorderman also showed her support and wrote: “Wishing you and your family peace and strength in what must be a very difficult time after the news of last week Holly x from my time on TM, I know that the team will miss you very much. Take care [heart emoji].”

While The Only Way Is Essex starFerne McCann said: “So sad. You have been brilliant, beautiful and always so welcoming. [heart emojis].”

Craig Doyle, who regularly co-presents the show with Holly, also paid tribute to the TV personality, writing that: “We are so supportive of you and we love you to bits, we just wish it didn’t end this way. Its a sad day for everyone. [green heart emoji].”

Elsewhere, other familiar faces including Abbey Clancy, Binky Felstead, Dermot O’Leary and Juliet Sear posted similar messages of support.

In Holly’s emotional Instagram statement, which she shared with her 8.4 million followers, she began: “I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning. To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much.

“This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together. Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive. To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you.

She also thanked the viewers at home for sticking around and for keeping her company, and wrote: “Most of all, thank you to the wonderful viewers. You’ve been so loyal, so supportive and the very best company every day.”
