Holly Willoughby ‘tells’ co-stars ‘there’s no room for a new scandal’

This Morning: Holly Willoughby returns

Holly Willoughby has reportedly told her This Morning co-stars there is no room for another scandal.

The presenter, 42, recently returned to the ITV daytime show following an extended summer break.

The break came in the wake of her former co-star Phillip Schofield’s shock exit from the show after two decades on air.

Phillip stepped down from working at ITV altogether in May after admitting to having an affair with a much younger male colleague.

ITV bosses were in crisis mode earlier this summer about how to deal with the bombshell news.

While an official replacement for Phillip has not been announced, Holly has been hosting the show alongside presenters like Craig Doyle and Alison Hammond.

This Morning suffered a blow earlier this week when it missed out on the Best Daytime Show accolade at this year’s National Television Awards (NTAs).

The Repair Shop, which airs on BBC One, scooped the award which has been honoured to This Morning for the past decade. Host Jay Blades and his co-stars collected the award as the crowd applauded them.

An insider told Heat Magazine that Holly’s allegedly “full of ideas” to ensure This Morning is the best daytime show.

They added: “She decided to return to This Morning because she loves working on it, and she wants to turn it around.”

“She is full of ideas for how they can make the show much more engaging and relevant,” they claimed.

“It might come as a shock to some at ITV, but she isn’t going to let anyone stop her running things the way she wants.

“She doesn’t want to dwell on the past, either – she wants to draw a line under it and make it clear to everyone that there is no room for a new scandal.”

Express.co.uk has contacted ITV for comment.

Holly is set to return to hosting Dancing On Ice in the winter months, but Phillip will not be her co-presenter on the ITV show.

This Morning airs on weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITVX.
