Hollyoaks and Strictly star Ali Bastian's daughter, 2, rushed to hospital after going 'blue and floppy' | The Sun

HOLLYOAKS star Ali Bastian has opened up about the terrifying moment her daughter was whisked to hospital after going "blue and floppy".

Ali, who previously starred in the Channel 4 soap as Becca Dean, told how little Isla went into "systematic shutdown" following an allergic reaction.

Isla is now two and Ali and her husband David have experienced several heart-stopping moments during their daughter's short life.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Ali – who has confirmed she is expecting her second child – revealed that Isla cannot eat dairy, egg, nuts, peanuts and sesame.

Recalling one reaction, the 2009 Strictly Come Dancingstar said: "Anaphylaxis can look different for different people.

"With Isla, she had a systemic shutdown and went blue and floppy. She was so tiny, it was awful.

In 2019, she tied the knot with hubby David and they announced the birth of Isla in March the following year.

Ali, who is planning to visit a private consultant to help 'desensitise' Isla to her allergies, speaks openly about her daughter's medical issue on social media.

She says she now feels part of a "community".

Just last week, Ali shared a series of sweet photographs taken during a trip to visit her close friend and former Hollyoaks co-star Carly Stenson.

Carly, best known for playing Steph Cunningham, now lives with her husband Danny Mac – who appeared as Dodger Savage in Hollyoaks – and their baby daughter Skye on the south coast.

Ali admitted in her Instagram post that her "little family" have been unable to travel long distances due to Isla's allergies.

"I want more of these sunny days!! We really haven’t ventured far before with Isla’s allergies but our little family is gaining confidence all the time and loving mini adventures!" she wrote.

"Huge love and thanks to our dear friend @carleystenson1 for having us and making our day so special #allergy #allergyfamily #adventures #foodallergymom #freedom."

Meanwhile, earlier today we told how Ali and David are expecting their second baby together.
