HOLLYOAKS star Jeremy Edwards has shocked fans with his real age as he celebrates his birthday.

The actor – who played Kurt Benson in the Channel 4 soap – revealed that he turns 52 today in a social media post.

Jeremy, who shot to fame on the programme in 1995, said he was "blessed" to be surrounded by his wife Lydia and his two children Scarlett and son Theodore on this special day.

He wrote: "It’s my birthday tomorrow. I will be 52. FIFTY TWO!!! How did that happen?

"It was the 90’s just a second ago! I’m blessed in that I have an amazing wife and 2 beautiful kids but still……52!!!"

Jeremy's fans could not believe the actor was in his 50s – with many insisting he looks years younger.

But Jeremy confessed they won't be having any more babies, saying that he "feels quite old".

When asked if the couple are planning to have any more children, he said: "It could be done so we had room for more, but I feel quite old and I am feeling it.

"With Scarlett it’s a very easy life because I can talk to her and play with her. But starting again with a baby is hard work, so the idea of doing it again after this."

The TV star added OK! magazine: "It was a long road with the IVF, all the trying, the traumatic birth and then IVF again. Now we have our little boy I feel we’re settled.
