Hollyoaks star Jude Monk McGowan announces engagement 3yrs after his character was killed off | The Sun

HOLLYOAKS star Jude Monk McGowan has announced his engagement to partner Jessica Hern.

It comes three years after he was spotted working in a gym seven months after being killed off as evil Liam Donovan in the Channel 4 soap.



Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, McGowan posted a carousel of snaps documenting their special day.

Amongst the snaps, Jessica proudly showed off her stunning engagement ring.

The actor seemingly popped the question on Kamari Beach; a location in Greece on the east coast of Santorini island.

He captioned the adorable shots: "Only you, always. You who has taught me what loving and true partnership really means."

Jude played Liam Donovan in the long-running soap from 2018 until 2020.

His character was involved in various plots including murder, blackmail and even a twisted hostage scene.

Since leaving Hollyoaks, Jude has traded fame for a job as a personal trainer.

According to The Sun, he decided to seek a different avenue of employment when the coronavirus pandemic left a devastating impact on the entertainment industry.

He now teaches twice weekly Strength and Core fitness sessions for £12 a pop.
