He rushes to be by her side, an act which immediately proves Mercedes wrong.

After she bolts, Eden fails to convince Mercedes to come back and finish the recording.

Instead, Bree asks Mercedes to return on behalf of the band.

Although Bree believes she's failed, Mercedes turns up on the doorstep with a changed tune and agreeing that the album needs her magic touch.

Elsewhere, Theo and Eden catch up with band manager Justin and agree they need to launch their new album.

When Justin sits down with Kirby, he is impressed with the work she's done, however expresses concern over her treatment of Theo.

Justin believes Kirby has assigned Theo the brunt of the publicity as punishment, being her ex-boyfriend – something she vehemently disagrees with and finds insulting.

Leah warns Justin to be wary of a broken-hearted Kirby, but his continued efforts only seem to make things worse.

Later, Leah unintentionally angers Kirby further when she suggests there’s more to life than bands and boys.

Things take a turn when Kirby walks out on Leah, vowing to quit her job at the Diner.

Kirby turns her frustrations to Theo and Justin, making it clear that they will only have purely professional relationships from now on.

Afterwards, Kirby opens up to Kirby about her troubled history with surfing, and the brush with fate that left a lasting inability to go out in the swell.

After some wise words from Mackenzie, Kirby heads into the surf while Mackenzie cheers from the sidelines.

Theo is astonished as he catches the end of her ride, wondering why she would have kept such a big secret from him.

But behind Tane’s back, Felicity is making plans to take out a loan.

When Eden shares the mix of the album with Felicity, she goes to Cash and asks him for the money to pay her blackmailer, under the guise that she’s supporting a Lyrik album launch.

After she is caught in a lie, Felicity explains she’s been reckless with her own money and now needs ten grand to cover herself.

A supportive Cash lends the money, but he tells Eden his suspicions that this is yet another lie.
