I was a huge 90s Neighbours star and pin-up – now I’ve quit acting and live in a tiny house made from shipping container | The Sun

HUGE 90s Neighbours star and pin-up Emma Harrison has quit acting and now lives in a tiny house made from shipping containers.

Emma, 49, who played Annalise’s sister Jo in the Aussie soap, has swapped fame and fortune for simple living in recent years.

During a recent appearance on The Morning Show, she gushed about her gorgeous home on the Gold Coast and why it's so sustainable.

The former actress said, "I have two shipping containers. They are 2.4 meters in width, six meters in length and 2.6 meters high, so they're high cube shipping containers, they're pretty spacious.

"They're separated by a balcony, which is in the middle, so the whole space is about 50 meters square. It's really fun."

When asked why she decided to live this way, Emma replied, "Well, there's a lot of focus on sustainability these days, and I feel like, you know, everybody's got to do their bit because our little bit is part of a much larger bit.

"You know, sort of being more minimalistic and not over-consuming was a conscious choice. So it makes us feel so happy that yeah we're just decreasing our footprint on the planet."

Emma joked that she loves her new property as it only takes three minutes to vacuum and she gets to spend lots of time outdoors in nature.

She's donated her large collection of clothes to charity and claimed her electricity bill was $160 last quarter.

Emma shot to fame in Neighbours when she bagged her first major television role in 1995.
