I was on Fame Academy and engaged to Jenson Button – I moved to Hollywood | The Sun

LOUISE Griffiths can be best remembered for her stint in the hit reality singing competition Fame Academy.

She rose to public prominence whilst taking part on the BBC show, but her music career started far earlier.

Louise, 45, was a member of an unsuccessful girlband named Orchid, which originally recorded the song, Sound of the Underground, in 2001.

However their version of the track was never released and it only became a hit only when it was subsequently re-recorded.

Girls Aloud released the song as their chosen song for the race for the 2002 Christmas number one as part of Popstars The Rivals.

After this, she was then chosen by the public to appear on the second series of the BBC TV show Fame Academy in 2003.

Louise had already had a taste of fame when she joined the Academy, from dating F1 star Jenson Button.

Despite complaints that her celebrity relationship gave her an advantage of the show, she made it into the final eight before she was voted out.

She never received a recorded contract after her stint on the show and has since moved to LA to pursue an acting career.

Griffiths made her film debut with her role of Melissa in the horror movie The Devil's Chair which was directed by Adam Mason.
