HE made a name for himself when he appeared on Love Island in 2019, but these days Chris Taylor has swapped villa life for Hollywood.
The 32-year-old left fans gobsmacked when he rocked up to the Barbie premiere and posed with the cast – revealing he had in fact landed a role in the most anticipated film of the year.
Now, Chris has opened up to The Sun about how he landed the role as a Ken in the already iconic movie, which is set to propel him into superstardom – and it’s all down to Love Island super fan Margot Robbie.
He says: “I don’t know if this is true, but it’s all I can assume. I met Margot Robbie at an afterparty.
"Margot recognised us from Love Island – I was with Jordan and Mac and she came over to us, chatting and talking about Love Island.
“She loves Love Island. And then she said 'do you want to come to the after, after party?', which was back at her hotel. It was a massive hotel room, it was more like a house.

“It was all pretty bizarre.
"I decided to go outside for some fresh air and then Margot comes out as well.
"So I was stood there ‘like what do you say to Margot Robbie?’.”
Chris says he then told a series of rather cheeky stories about the male anatomy, adding: “She seemed to be entertained.”

About 18 months later, Chris was asked by Warner Bros to come and audition for Barbie – and initially thought it was a prank.
He continued to think it was a joke even when he was being driven to the studio, but he says: “We get there and Ryan Gosling just walked past my car with bright blonde hair and I was like holy s**t, this is actually real.”
Chris admitted he was too nervous to chat to Ryan on set, but he says: “I know how sound he is, I have seen him talk to people and he’s lovely and laid back. He’s one of my favourite actors.”
Chris ended up shooting for around three hours and appears in the movie for just thirty seconds or so – but does have a speaking part.
The star is convinced Margot was behind him landing the role, saying: “I saw her on the red carpet and got the opportunity to say thank you.
“I’m pretty certain she’s responsible for me being it, because her company produces the film as well. Her husband said to me at the premiere that Margot was like ‘we have to get Chris in this film’.”
It has now sparked a desire in Chris to get into acting, and he has already filmed another film – a short called Just Two drops.
He said: “I enjoyed doing and I am going to get some acting coaching. It ties into stuff I do anyway, so it’s a bit of a no brainer, but I don’t know if anything will come of it.
“As long as I enjoy it, it doesn’t matter. It’s kind of like the universe is telling me to do something about it, because often does this happen?”
