Inside Blue Ivy’s starry life of Grammy wins, £8k frocks & red carpets as Beyonce fans go wild over ‘lookalike’ daughter | The Sun

SHE'S shocked fans with her uncanny resemblance to iconic mum Beyoncé, and there's no doubt Blue Ivy Carter is on her way to becoming a star in her own right.

Appearing with dad Jay-Z courtside at a basketball match this week, the 10-year-old looked grown-up and sophisticated, wearing an all-black ensemble complete with leather jacket and large hoop earrings.

It's hardly surprising Blue – who was just two days old when she was labelled "the most famous baby in the world" by Time magazine – is commanding attention before she even hits her teens.

Here we take a look at her already-extraordinary life, as one of the most famous 'tweens' in the world…

'Cultural icon'

Even before she was born, Blue Ivy was destined for big things.

When delighted first-time parents Beyoncé and Jay Z announced her birth they also trademarked her name, describing her as a 'cultural icon' in the legal documents.

The trademark covered everything from dummies to cosmetics, online shops and entertainment, such as video games and jewellery.

At the time the application was appealed by American wedding planner Veronica Morales, who owned Blue Ivy Events, but Beyoncé and Jay Z won their case.

Jay Z insisted they didn’t want to cash in on Blue, but wanted to ensure no one else could, telling Vanity Fair: “You don’t want anybody trying to benefit off your baby’s name.”

Blue has already built a career of her own away from her parents.

Her first solo project, aged eight, saw her narrate the audiobook version of Hair Love by Oscar-winning filmmaker Matthew A. Cherry.

Award show pro

Last year at the age of just nine, Blue – who is older sister to four-year-old twin siblings Rumi and Sir – became only the second youngest person to ever win a Grammy, and the youngest to win an MTV Video Music Award.

The awards were for Beyoncé's Brown Skin Girl music video. She won the accolade alongside her mum, collaborator Wizkid and the video's director Jenn Nkiru.

Blue’s video appearance also saw her win a NAACP Image Award, a BET Award, and a Soul Train Award.

Speaking about her daughter’s take on the success of the song, Beyoncé told Vogue: “Blue saw some of the reactions to the Brown Skin Girl video.

"When I tell her I’m proud of her, she tells me that she’s proud of me and that I’m doing a good job. It’s sweet.”

Back in 2014 she also commanded the red carpet and the MTV VMAs with her first event – when she was just two.

She also joined her parents – who are collectively worth over a staggering £1 billion – on the front-row of the Grammys in 2017 and 2018, and is a pro on the red carpet.

Born to perform

Incredibly, before Blue Ivy could even talk and string a sentence together, she was set for singing stardom.

She was just 10 days old when dad Jay Z released his track Glory in January 2012, which featured the sound of her cries.

The rapper recorded her vocals 48 hours after she was born, and Blue was credited on the track.

She became the youngest ever person to have a song in America’s Billboard 100 chart.

A year later the toddler featured on her mum’s song, Blue, an ode to her daughter.

To date Blue has lent her voice to at least five of her parents’ solo tracks.

Fashion forward

When your parents are literally cultural and fashion icons, it's not surprising Blue has had her own stylist and personal shopper since she was six – if not younger.

Manuel Mendez started working for Beyonce as her personal assistant in 2009, but he has also been responsible for some of Blue's most iconic looks too, including the Valery Kovalska white suit she once wore to the Grammys.

Accessories she's worn in the past include a £1,230 Louis Vuitton handbag and a Valentino studded clutch worth £1,765.

Blue was even considered to be one of the best dressed at the 2016 MTV VMAs when she wore an £8,000 blush tulle dress and diamond tiara to complement her mum’s outfit.

Beyoncé revealed her daughter has an eye for fashion when she told Vogue in November that her second Ivy Park clothing collaboration with Adidas had been inspired by Blue during lockdown.

Beyoncé said: “During quarantine, fashion was a place of escape for me.

"My kids and I came up with Fashion Fridays. Every Friday we would dress up in my clothes or make clothes together and take pictures."

The budding film star

Blue also made her screen debut in Beyoncé’s autobiographical offering, Life Is But A Dream, in 2013 and since then has become a star in her mum’s films.

In 2016 she appeared in her visual album Lemonade – which sold over 2.5million copies worldwide – and in 2019’s Homecoming, a concert film released across all major streaming platforms.

Blue also featured with Pharrell Williams and Childish Gambino in her mum’s 2019 documentary Beyonce Presents: Making The Gift.

But it was her starring role in Beyoncé’s visual album Black Is King that helped Blue stand out in her own right.

Famous friends

Of course, Blue is accustomed to a life of luxury, living in a modern £71million Bel Air mansion, boasting eight bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, four swimming pools, a cinema, spa, staff quarters and 15-car garage.

Additionally, the family often take a private jet to their other properties, including an £18.5million house in The Hamptons, New York.

She once even bid £14k on a piece of art at the age of just six, so it's not surprising she moves in some very starry A-list circles and already has a group of famous pals.

Among her pals are Apple Martin, the 18-year-old daughter of actress Gywneth Paltrow and Coldplay’s Chris Martin, and she's also been pictured hanging out with Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s twins, Moroccan and Monroe. 11.

Blue is "extremely close" to the eldest son of Beyoncé’s Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland, seven-year-old Titan, with Kelly saying: “It’s the sweetest thing.

"It’s the greatest thing about friendship, when you’re able to grow up together and your children grow up together. They act like cousins.”

However, it's rumoured Blue may have a very famous 'frenemy' in Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's equally famous oldest daughter North West.

While things may well have changed, in 2016 Kanye West sparked the rumour himself, revealing during a Seattle concert while talking about Jay Z: "Our kids have never even played together."
