Inside Ruth Langsford’s stunning Cotswolds girls' getaway with luxury hotel and lunch at James Martin’s restaurant | The Sun

RUTH Langsford has enjoyed some downtime away from the city and whisked her gal pals away for some time in the Cotswolds.

The Loose Women presenter, who celebrated her 63rd birthday on March 17th, traded in the busy streets of London for a luxury getaway in the British countryside.

Ruth and her pals – cook Sam Balshaw, PR Louise Alexander and TV presenter Lucy Alexander – set up a home in an adorable cottage called the Old School House.

The comfy home came with an old-fashioned log-burning fireplace to keep cosy, high-end furniture for you to relax and read a book in, and simple kitchen to get your essentials in.

They later headed to the at Lygon Arms in the Cotswolds, where they were treated to special chocolates and enjoyed champagne.

The breathtaking mansion, based in the village of Broadway, is over 600 years old and has previously housed royalty.

Boasting everything the girls needed from a spa to a series of lounges, the Lygon Arms is also home to James Martin's new pub and restaurant.

Naturally, the girls couldn't resist the opportunity to sample some of the food, and later posed for photos in the elaborately decorated halls.

Sharing her experience there, Ruth shared pics and videos of the luxury stay and said: "Stunning building, gorgeous food & wine, sunshine & cocktails in the courtyard! The best time. We’ll be back James!"

Leaving husband Eamonn Holmes at home, it was a strict girls-only affair as they enjoyed long walks around the historic town.
