ITV Im A Celebrity fans blast star for leaving Sam Thompson deflated over mean comment

Fred Sirieix appears to be in the I'm a Celeb viewers' bad books yet again, thanks to scenes that aired during last night's episode.

The 51 year old First Dates star, who went on to become the third campmate to be evicted from the jungle, frustrated fans after he insisted on tackling the latest trial, Fly On The Wall.

Fred volunteered to face the Bushtucker trial alongside JLS member Marvin Humes. However, a slew of other celebs had also expressed their enthusiasm in taking part, after Tony Bellew revealed that two campmates would be required to help earn the stars.

"Once every celebrity has spoken, then have your say," the former boxer said diplomatically.

After Marvin offered himself as tribute, it was decided that he would take one of the spots. Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson backed his campmate up, saying: "I think Marv should definitely be going because you haven't done one yet and I know you are superman."

Meanwhile, Hollyoaks' Nick Pickard, Sam and Tony said they'd be up for doing the trial too. "I'm happy to go as well. Happy to do it and you know, want to bring some stars back for the team," Sam chimed in.

But before a discussion could be had, Fred overruled and declared that he would be going. "I'll go with Marvin, just because why not. I'm ready to go," he said.

Fred then turned around and said to Sam: "Don't worry, I'm going. You can carry on playing with your toys, we'll do the men's stuff. I'm going with Marvin, I've already decided."

As the cameras panned to Sam, viewers noticed he looked visibly downcast after being shut down and not given the opportunity to prove himself to his teammates.

Airing his feelings in the Bush Telegraph, the podcast host shared: "I hope he doesn't think that I just want to stay in camp. I really, really want to help. I also don't want to argue about it. I don't have a backbone. I'm not going to sit there and say, 'No I want to do it.'"

Sam's admission pulled at fans' heartstrings, as they took to Twitter to call out Fred's comment.

"Sam looks so deflated after that comment from Fred my heart is breaking:( #imaceleb," one person penned, as a second echoed this sentiment, typing: "#ImACeleb Sam looks so upset, he was only saving an argument saying that he doesn't care who does the trial, the fact that Fred said that Sam wants to play with his little toys is horrible."

Elsewhere, a third fan added: "#ImACeleb Sam is the type of person that needs to never lose his sparkle, people will always try and dull your sparkle and get people to calm down but he is just how he should be," as a fourth said: "Sam's face when someone's being horrible to him is actually heartbreaking."
