ITV Im A Celebritys Nella Roses friends hit back at fake illness claims

Friends of I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! star Nella Rose have hit back at claims she faked an illness to get out of the latest bushtucker trial.

Instead, they have insisted that it was a medical emergency that saw her leave camp to see a medic.

Nella was ruled out of Wednesday night's trial as she was rushed to see the show medics.

Viewers had been voting throughout the show for the Trial In Too Deep, which is an underwater task.

But as Ant and Dec went into camp to reveal who will be taking on the challenge, Dec said: "Now, unfortunately, Nella is being seen by the medic, so she'll be back later, but it means she's now exempt from this trial.

“So let's go in there and see who will be doing it." She was then nowhere to be seen on screen.

Afterwards, fans flocked to social media to claim that she must have faked her illness.

But one friend of Nella's said: "The idea that she was faking or trying to get out of the trial is unfair and untrue.

"It was a minor medical emergency, and it happened just before the show.

"They had to take her off to get looked at and couldn’t get her back in time for the trial reveal."

ITV have confirmed that the YouTube star returned to camp a few hours later.

Nella’s trip to the medics came after she faced yesterday’s bushtucker trial, Dreaded Beds, alongside jockey Frankie Dettori.

The duo failed to get anything from the trial and went back to camp empty-handed.

During her time on the jungle show, she has faced her fair share of trials, but former I’m A Celeb campmate Samantha Fox thinks that the 26 year old is “playing a game.”

Speaking toCloser Magazine, she revealed: “Nella has driven me mad from the beginning. She's definitely playing a game and has got to get out, as she's not a team player.

"She wants to blow everything out of proportion and just start an argument.”

However, her time in the jungle hasn’t been easy, and at one point, she has even talked about quitting the show altogether.

In a conversation with her campmate Grace Dent – who has since left on medical grounds – in the first week, she explained: “I’ve never, ever in my life started something and finished it. Ever.

“I always quit, or I always sign on short term, or if I don’t like it, I can leave. This is the one thing I said I’m going to try and stick it through, but I can already see myself… if I get in my head too much…”
