Good Morning Britain presenter Ranvir Singh is fronting the latest quiz show from ITV where three teams of two battle it out to answer general knowledge questions and solve mind-bending riddles. However, as the first show kicked off on Monday afternoon, many viewers slammed the TV show, claiming the questions were “too easy” and Ranvir seemed “patronising” towards the contestants when getting questions correct.

Viewers of the show took to their Twitter accounts within minutes of the show starting and slammed Ranvir and the questions.

Twitter user @RealEnliL commented: “Harder to solve? They were struggling with the children’s Questions! #Riddiculous”

@buncie44 fumed: “#Riddiculous 15 mins is enough what Crap and Ranvir is an embarrassing presenter. Bring back Tenable.”

@JeanOloan added: “Never thought I’d be missing Tenable but there you are .#riddiculous.” (sic)

@cliffordh expressed: “The ‘Well done is getting on my nerves. Will not be watching #Riddiculous again.”

Whilst @NSWMongoose said: “Why does the presenter sound so patronising when she says “well done!” when the contestants get a question right or in conversation? Yeah, not a fan of #Riddiculous sorry.”

However, not all viewers had harsh words to say against the show, with Liz Gallagher praising: “@henrywlewis loving #Riddiculous with you & @ranvir01.” (sic)

The premise of the hour-long episodes sees the three teams go head to head, answering quick-fire general knowledge questions to win as much money as they can.

They then have to solve ‘Riddlemaster’ Henry Lewis’ tricky riddles to add more money into their bank.

At the end of the game, the team who has banked the most money will then face the high-stakes game Henry’s Riddle Run, where they race against the clock to solve visual riddles.

If they are successful, then they face a final riddle where they can choose whether to risk going double or nothing.

When discussing her excitement to be on the show, Ranvir told ITV: “I found that my happy place is inside a massive warehouse filming back-to-back quizzes for 12 hours a day.

“Who knew? I loved it and felt happy the whole time. I think perhaps it’s a reaction to having reported on the news, which can so often be doom and gloom.

“But in a quiz show, there’s no bad news at all.”

She also touched on what she thought were the biggest challenges that she faced during filming and said: “We have a brilliant contestant in one of the episodes who is also deaf.

“So my biggest challenge, and indeed great privilege was to work with him to make sure he could read my lips and feel everything was completely fair.”

Ranvir admitted that she channelled Les Dawson when filming for the show as the presenter, joking: “The GOAT (greatest of all time) is Les Dawson.

“He was a one-off total genius! Blankety Blank gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling for the 1980s quiz show era.

“But of course, we now have the likes of Ben Shephard on Tipping Point and Bradley Walsh on The Chase, for example.”

Riddiculous airs weekdays from 3pm on ITV.
