Jada exits EastEnders with Alyssa – but fails to rectify Annie mistake

Jada Lennox (Kelsey Calladine-Smith) made a huge decision about her future in EastEnders after yet another threat from Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks), leaving the Square with baby Alyssa in tow.

The teen, as viewers know, was manipulated by Janine into helping her to destroy Linda Carter (Kellie Bright).

Despite her reservations, Jada planted bottles of alcohol in the house she shares with Linda, before telephoning social services, who subsequently popped over to investigate the matter.

Baby Annie, however, was caught up in all the commotion, as the social workers found bruises on her arms, and thus she was taken away from Linda, much to Jada’s horror.

Jada attempted to rectify her mistake, but Janine was having none of it, issuing her with a dark threat if she failed to keep shtum.

The guilt, however, proved too much and thus Jada confessed her crime to Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), who was appalled.

After processing the information, Sharon instructed Jada to go to the police and tell them that she set Linda up.

Jada ultimately agreed to do so, but Janine got to her first, manipulating her into reconsidering after she claimed that Sharon doesn’t care about her and that it’s only Alyssa she’s interested in.

With Janine’s words swirling around in her head, Jada decided to leave the Square, and subsequently had a heart-to-heart with Zack Hudson (James Farrar), before departing.

Linda, meanwhile, forced Sharon into revealing that Jada set her up, but before she could confront her, she discovered that she’d done a runner, leaving the landlady in a state.

How will Linda get baby Annie back now?

It was revealed earlier this year that Jada would be leaving EastEnders, after she and a number of other characters were axed as part of a major shake-up.

But have we truly seen the last of her? Or will she be back? Only time will tell.

EastEnders continues Thursday September 1 at 7:30pm on BBC One.
