As usual, James Martin hosted his Saturday Morning show on ITV from his home. For one segment, which was to encourage children to eat more green vegatables, viewers saw young guests test our a selection of vegetarian meals. However viewers were concerned the youngsters would “burn themselves” on the hot food.
Inspired by ITV’s Eat Them to Defeat Them campaign, James rustled some tasty vegetarian meals.
However, the chef came under fire as he served them up from a hot pan.
The children could be seen blowing on the food to cool it down before trying it.
Viewers rushed to Twitter to complain the dishes were too hot for the children.
One ITV viewer tweeted: “Watching #jamesmartin those kids how the didn’t burn there mouths. Looks so hot.”
Another added: “These kids awkwardly trying to eat the red hot vegetables without complaining.”
A third shared: “Serving the bairns actual fire directly from the pan all whilst mugging them off has made my Saturday morning.
“Even odds them kids are off to A&E within the next half hour.”
Someone else continued: “Perhaps let it cool down first, poor kids look like they are burning their mouths!!”
“Serving these kids steaming hot veg and shouting ‘WHAT ABOUT THAT, THEN?” another posted.
It comes after James opened up about how he stays grounded, explaining his family are always honest with him.
Speaking on The Travel Diaries podcast, James shared he preferred to be at home than rubbing shoulders with celebs.

“We weren’t a well-off family, we had nothing,” he shared. “We were properly grounded farmers, all hard grafters of work. That’s kind of where I learned that ethos.
“You appreciate nice things in terms of food and you appreciate how much work goes into the food on your table.”
He went on to add his greatest achievement was “when I bought my mum a house”.
James added: “That’s the greatest achievement I’ve ever done in my life.”
James Martin’s Saturday Morning airs Saturday on ITV at 9.25am.
