James Moore helped Emmerdale writers with tonight's Marlon scenes

Emmerdale star James Moore has assisted writers for tonight’s episode, which focuses on Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and disability.

Marlon will return to the Woolpack for his and Rhona’s (Zoe Henry) engagement party.

It’s a huge milestone for Marlon, as it will also mark the first time he heads back to his old place of work since his life-changing stroke.

Not only that, but being surrounded by a sea of residents all with different views and opinions is something Marlon hasn’t done for ages, as he’s usually visited by one or two people at his home.

Marlon’s storyline so far has been heavily praised by viewers, with many finding Mark Charnock’s performance incredibly moving.

The episode has been written by Sharon Marshall, who gave a tease to viewers on Twitter by writing:

‘I’ve written tonight’s Emmerdale but couldn’t have done it without @JamesMooreActor giving time, wisdom and love to help shape Marlon’s conversations about disability. Script ed Jessica Foy, directed by Ian Curtis & Christine McVie sings Songbird on the bit that makes me cry.’

‘Loved working with you on this. Can’t wait to see the results’, James replied.
