Jamie-Lynn quits I’m A Celebrity days after Grace Dent removed for medical reasons

Jamie Lynn Spears has decided to leave I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

After a rocky few days in the camp, and becoming emotional in the latest instalment, the 32 year old American actress and singer has now exited the show "on medical grounds".

It has been confirmed she left camp in the early hours of Thursday morning in Australia. Her last appearance on the show will be in Wednesday night's UK episode.

A show spokesperson said: “Jamie Lynn Spears has left I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! on medical grounds.

"She’s been a fantastic campmate who has triumphed at trials and bonded well with her fellow celebrities," ITV bosses have added.

Jamie Lynn's exit follows Grace Dent's departure from the camp only a couple of days earlier, as the food critic also left the show "for medical reasons".

In Monday night’s instalment of the ITV show, actor Nick Pickard read out a statement in which Grace said leaving at this stage of the show would be “one of the saddest things in my life”.

"My dear campmates, I’m so sorry to let you down. I have left the camp for medical reasons," she continued. "My heart is broken, I have loved and enjoyed getting to know you all. You’ve held me up and it’s been a pleasure being your friend through this experience.

“Leaving you all at this stage will be one of the saddest things in my life. I love you all. Your friend, Miss Grace Dent," the star added.

ITV also released a similar statement announcing Grace's departure to Jamie Lynn's, which read: "Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds.

"She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike."

While the camp will undoubtedly be rocked by Jamie Lynn's sudden exit from the show, the rest of the celebs were well-aware that she'd been struggling being so far away from home.

She had also broke down in tears on a number of occasions, as she sobbed to her campmates about missing her kids.

As she was comforted by EastEnders actress Danielle Harold, Jamie Lynn admitted that having a small square of chocolate – which Sam Thompson, Tony Bellew and Marvin Humes had won from the vending machine at the Misery Motel – had only made her more miserable.

"That chocolate kinda p****d me off," the star laughed.

Tony also went to check on Jamie Lynn when he realised she'd walked off on her own into the trees. The pair hugged and champion boxer Tony told the Zoey 101 actress that she only had to ask if she needed anything.

"She's just getting frustrated, she misses her kids," Tony reflecred in the Bush Telegraph. "She's so far away from home. It's good to just go and ask someone how they're doing. Just look out for each other. Everyone should have that attitude with everybody."

Sources on the show have also said Jamie Lynn’s exit was linked to her missing her family, as one person claimed: “She has been struggling physically and mentally for some time. If you look back even last week this is not a complete surprise by any means.”

As early as the third episode of the series over a week ago, she had spoken about quitting the jungle. At the time she broke down in tears when she wasn’t given her luxury item.

Jamie Lynn moaned: “I don’t wanna be here, I quit, It is not fair.”

The sister of Britney Spears broke down after four members of the camp took part In a game to win luxury items – but failed to win her item which was a framed photograph of her children.

After going into the Bush Telegraph, Jamie Lynn said: "I just wanted to say like, I don’t get it. Why would y’all put them through that? They feel guilty. Like they didn’t come back with the gifts for their friends. This is not OK, I wanna go home."

Going back into camp in tears, she added: "I just went and told them, I was like you’re so f****d up if you want to put them through that. I think this is not fair. I quit, I don’t want to do it. I do not wanna be here, that was like f**king torture. I just want to see my kids, I will stay out here with the critters just let me see them.”
