The proud pundit discussed his dad’s success, admitting his phone will be ringing off the hook now he is King Of The Jungle – and he'll probably end up wanting to go back in.
Writing in the Mail, he said: “I am so proud of the way he has shown everyone the real Harry. When you are stuck in front of a camera for three weeks, there is nowhere to hide.
“He has shown he is a funny, down-to-earth man who loves his family. When he gets his phone back, it won’t stop ringing. He’ll be begging to go back to the jungle!”
Reiterating his feelings at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball last night, he said: “I think the fact that he’s come through it and everybody likes him.
“As a son it’s all you can ask for. And people come up to me, you know young kids are going, “you’re dad’s great” And I’m like, yeah you know what, he is great. And I’m really happy, and I’m proud of him.”
And when asked what his favourite part of the show was, he said: “Ah that’s when my mum came in. It was so nice, and it’s so real, and that’s what, you know there is a genuine love there and that’s what really struck me.
“Going to watch my boy play football today, all people coming up to me and say is, “we love your dad, we love your mum, they’re so real, they’re so nice.” And that’s really heart-warming because they’re my parents and I adore them but it’s nice for other people to see them in that light.”
Jamie and his sons Charley, 13, and Beau, nine, with ex Louise Redknapp, have watched the show every night for the past three weeks and made sure they didn’t miss last night’s final.
The footballer filmed the moment his dad was crowned Jungle King and shared a series of sweet videos on Instagram.
He captioned the clip: "I never thought I'd say this but I'm so proud to have my dad as the king of the jungle.
"We love you! Now come home please, we all miss you!!"
The 45-year-old hunk could be heard saying over one video: "Harry, look at him! He'll hate this bit! Go on Harry, go on dad, go on mate. Hahaha, well done."
He said over another clip of Harry walking across the jungle bridge: "Look at him! Go on Dad, he doesn't know what he's holding up there!"
Jamie later phoned Australia as Harry was being interviewed on I'm A Celebrity… Extra Camp and told his dad: "I must be honest I just want to thank the campmates for looking after him, they were so kind to him.
"I wasn't worried about him I was more worried about them, I thought he was going to be useless in there because he doesn't clean and he doesn't cook.
"And special thanks to John (Barrowman) who I've met before. All the boys, all the kids we're so proud of you mate."
