Jane McDonald teases Celebrity Gogglebox appearance branding it an ‘absolute blast’

Television presenter Jane McDonald has announced her next TV move, following her stint hosting the British Soap Awards this week. The 60 year old is joining the cast of Celebrity Gogglebox with her best friend Sue, she has confirmed on Twitter.

On the social media platform singer Jane said: "I'm going to be appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox with my best friend Sue – it's going to be an absolute blast! We’ve shared some unforgettable moments over the years but I am really looking forward to spending time together on this wonderful show. @C4Gogglebox."

Alongside the exciting announcement, Jane shared three throwback snaps of the pair from over the years. The three snaps were clearly from a number of different eras as you could see the difference in the pair as time has gone on.

Fans have been filling Jane's post with excited messages as well as well wishes. One delighted fan said: "Omg Sue Ravey and Jane McDonald on Gogglebox. This is what gay dreams are made of."

The move has been branded "iconic" by one fan who said: "ICONIC! We are living in Jane's world now and I am absolutely here for it" completing the tweet with a heart eye emoji.

Iconic seemed to be the theme from fans as another tweeted to say: "Oh this is ICONIC! Jane McDonald is absolutely SLAYING AT LIFE." One fan was clearly delighted as they said: "it's like Christmas came early."

Yet another happy follower said: "Love this! Our Jane and the legend Sue Ravey on Celeb Gogglebox! Can’t wait!!!" While one more said: "Can't wait for this, you'll both be fab on it!!! xxx."

"Wow! Jane this is great news! I just love Gogglebox and you and Sue are made for this programme!" said one delighted fan."

This fan will be watching when the show airs after they said: "Can't wait to see you there. You did a fantastic job on the soap awards."


Today's announcement comes just days after Jane was stunned as she stepped in at the last minute to present this year's Soap Awards on Saturday, 3 June. She replaced Phillip Schofield as host of the show and Jane said that it was her "dream job."

After the Soap Awards aired Jane tweeted to say: "Thank you for all the wonderful and positive messages after last night's British Soap Awards were televised. It was a dream come true to host the awards, and I loved every minute!

"Massive thanks to Lifted Entertainment, everyone at @ITV and all the fabulous staff at @The_Lowry." Celebrity Gogglebox is set to air later in June.
