Janet Street-Porter disgusts Loose Women panel as she admits ‘eating roadkill’

Loose Women: Janet Street Porter on media attack on BBC

The Loose Women panel were left lost for words when Janet Street-Porter opened up about skinning animals and eating roadkill on the ITV show.

The 76-year-old claimed she had brilliant survival skills and would not find it hard to hunt for food in the wilderness.

Speaking about the new Channel 4 programme Alone, which sees contestants by themselves in the wild wanting to win £100,000, Janet said: “If they do a celebrity show I want to be on it.”

“I have no issue with going it alone, this is my kind of show,” the outspoken journalist added.

“I have skinned birds and I have eaten road kill,” to which her co-stars interjected.

ITV stars Judi Love and Coleen Nolan could not hide their horror as they gave Janet disapproving looks.

It comes after Channel 4 viewers hit out over the first episode of Alone which saw “unprepared city dwellers” hoping to survive in the Canadian wilderness.

A group of 11 Brits were dropped off in an area on the cusp of the arctic circle as part of the programme.

The vast area is home to more than 3,000 bears, moose, wolves and cougars, with each contestant being apart from each other.

Whoever manages to live alone for the longest wins the eye-watering cash prize.

Taking to Twitter, Rod Bishop penned: “#Alone is an 11-person survival challenge in the Canadian wilderness.

“First bloke out lasted half an hour… Touted himself as a joiner who was confident in building a shelter and promptly slammed an axe in his leg. The second bloke says he’s looking for beaver?”

Toby quipped: “‘I get lost in Tesco,’ says someone dropped off in the Canadian wilderness in new reality game show #Alone.”

Andrew shared: “He doesn’t want to attract bears but he’s dressed up like one…”

Jamie fumed: “Just watched the first episode of #aloneuk I cannot believe this absolute bunch of Muppets #Alone. After all previous seasons, how could the producers possibly think a load of complete amateurs with no survival experience we’re going to be able to create a good survival show?”

Loose Women airs on weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
