Jeremy Vine viewers sickened as guests promote eating SQUIRRELS in shocking debate | The Sun

VIEWERS of Jeremy Vine were left appalled at a gross debate on the show today.

Furious Channel 5 watchers saw the guests on the panel tuck into a debate about whether it is okay for the public to eat SQUIRRELS. 


Jeremy’s self-titled show is noted for its hard-hitting and powerful debates which often provoke a variety of different opinions.

However the latest debate had viewers stunned and shocked at it’s ridiculousness.

The debate came up as a result of a restaurant in Cumbria being voted as the best in the world according to review site Tripadvisor. 

Amongst the items on the acclaimed menu are grey squirrel which prompted the guests of Jeremy Vine to debate about whether the furry creatures were appropriate to be eaten.

Shocked viewers quickly rushed to express their disgust and disdain at the suggestions on Twitter.

One furious fan raged the debate should get the entire show axed, saying: “How about eating dumb c***s who want to talk about eat squirrels and cockroaches. This f****d up show wants taking down #jeremyvine”

A second added: “Right let's get those squirrels shot and cooked, feed poor and we can reintroduced red squirrels that shouldn't be eaten. #jeremyvine”

Another viewer wrote: “#JeremyVine Let them eat squirrels if they're hungry ill have the cake”

A fourth furious fan exclaimed: “If you are eating squirrels and you are not totally skint on the bones of your a**e or Bear Grylls you are a tw*t and are going outside the scope here, try serving me squirrels and you’ll be wearing it. You don’t eat squirrels #JeremyVine did Jacob Rees-Mogg suggest it?”

Another viewer of Channel 5’s flagship morning show, pointed out the sudden change in topic from serious to bonkers when the show introduced the segment.

Quoting from the show, the user wrote: “‘So sorry for your absolutely unimaginable loss of your son, David, please take care’ ‘ANYWAY!!! IS IT EVER OK FOR US TO EAT SQUIRRELS!’”

Another fan picked up on the blunder and compared the show to an Alan Partridge show writing: “I try to imagine Alan Partridge for moments like that.”


Jeremy Vine airs between 9:15am and 12:45pm weekdays on Channel 5.
