BBC Countryfile: Judi Dench to join next episode
In an emotional moment in the special episode of Countryfile, Hamza Yassin helps Dame Judi Dench to overcome her deteriorating eyesight in order to see golden eagles.
Dame Judi can be seen looking through a camera while Hamza wraps a blanket over her head so she can see the eagles clearly.
As she spots the birds, the Oscar-winning actress can be heard squealing in delight and is left fighting tears.
The Strictly Come Dancing asks if Judi is okay as she becomes emotional, to which she replies: “Yes, I’m very overcome.
“It is an enormous privilege. How often does anybody see that? Not very often.”

Hamza added: “There are few people in the UK who can say they’ve seen a golden eagle in the wild.”
The moment is particularly emotional for Judi, 88, as she has opened up about her struggling eyesight, which has made it hard on film sets.
She previously told Graham Norton: “It has become impossible and because I have a photographic memory, I need to find a machine that not only teaches me my lines but also tells me where they appear on the page.
“I used to find it very easy to learn lines and remember them. I could do the whole of Twelfth Night right now.”

Elsewhere in the episode, Dame Judi meets with Charlotte out in the countryside of Inverary, in the west county of Argyll.
Dame Judi opens up about her love for Scotland and her fond memories of camping with her husband Michael and daughter Finty.
The pair settle down to enjoy a special picnic made of scotch pies, mackerel pate, empire biscuits and langoustines fresh from nearby Loch Fyne.
Later in the episode, Dame Judi is joined by her grandson Sam as they learn more about tartan as they visit Araminta Campbell’s Atelier, a one-of-a-kind hand-weaving workshop on the outskirts of Edinburgh.
Araminta leads Judi and Sam through the design process and the stories behind Judi’s choices of colour and thread patterns; muted earthy tones like ‘willow’ and ‘finch’ to reflect her love for trees and birds, 30 threads to represent her 30 years of marriage with her late husband Michael, and 23 threads to mirror the date of Shakespeare’s death.
Then, inspired by his grandmother’s love for the environment and wildlife, Sam’s rolling up his sleeves to demonstrate what we can do at this time of year to help songbirds get through the winter.
Countryfile Dame Judi Dench Special airs Sunday on BBc One at 7pm.
