Kady McDermott claims Elom only went on Love Island ‘for his business’

Love Island bombshell Kady McDermott recently dropped a bombshell of her own, claiming that fellow Islander Elom Ahiljah-Wilson went on the show for business purposes rather than to find true love.

After being dumped from the villa, it was revealed that Catherine Agbaje and Elom had decided to go their separate ways just days after their Love Island journey ended.

During an appearance on Reality with Will Njobvu, Kady expressed her disappointment over Catherine and Elom's breakup, as she had been rooting for the couple. When asked about Elom's intentions on the show, Kady revealed: “Oh he even said didn’t he? ‘I’m only on Love Island for my business,'

Kady continued: “You can tell because of his TikToks!”

In a TikTok video posted five days ago, titled 'Things I have accomplished since leaving my 9-5 last year,' Elom showcased his business achievements. The fitness trainer showed his new office space and shared that he had been on several business trips in recent months. He had even made a significant move to Dubai to expand his business ventures.

As a clip of him on Love Island played, he shared he had stepped out of his comfort zone and wrote: “Chase your dreams no matter what. If I can do it, you can too!” Interestingly, Elom left Catherine out of the aforementioned TikTok video, instead including a clip of himself and host Maya Jama.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said: “The pair struggled to make it work in the real world and barely saw each other since the show ended.

“They kept up a bit of a pretence, while they did the podcast circuit, but everyone knew it was over before it even really started.

“Catherine's sister made no secret about her feelings towards Elom so it's no surprise she cooled things off straight away.”

During a podcast, Elom had also hinted at his desire to focus on himself after the villa experience, rather than pursuing a relationship. When asked if he wanted a relationship, he replied, "Do you know what it is, like…" before the pair erupted into laughter and Catherine asked, "Is that a no?"

Elom continued: "Currently, I want to focus on myself. Coming out of the villa is like a thing where there's obviously a lot of light on both of us innit and we both need to focus on ourselves.”

In the aftermath of their breakup, it appears that Catherine may be regretting her decision to recouple after Casa Amor. Reports suggest that she is keen to rekindle her romance with fellow Islander Scott van-der-Sluis.

Speaking to The Sun, a friend of Catherine claimed that she “made a big mistake” in ending their budding romance and is keen to go on a date with Scott to see if they can pick things up from where they left off.

“She realises she made a big mistake cutting things off too soon, but she'd love another chance to explore if there is something genuinely there in the outside world,” they said.
