Kate Ferdinand broke down in tears and sobbed as son Cree was rushed to hospital for 48 hour stay | The Sun

KATE Ferdinand has revealed how she broke down in tears and sobbed as her baby son Cree was rushed to hospital.

The former The Only Way Is Essex star opened up about her young son having his "elbow pulled out of its socket".

Kate, 31, and her husband Rio revealed that their son Cree, two, was in hospital for two days following the injury.

The TV star told fans the couple's Blended podcast that his elbow was pulled out by another child at the beginning of the year.

Kate revealed that she "cried" when she failed to keep the injury dry, as instructed by NHS staff at the A&E unit.

She admitted: "Cree pulled his elbow at the beginning of the year. Well, he didn't pull his elbow.

"Unfortunately, one of the kids – you know you always tell them, 'Don't hold Cree by his hand, you've got to support him' – pulled Cree's elbow out of his socket."

"We ended up in hospital for about two days," Kate went on. "I'm so grateful to the NHS staff. They were amazing with him.

"We had been in hospital for 48 hours – I was exhausted. I don't want to sound like I'm being dramatic, but when your child is ill it brings on so much worry.

"We bathed Cree, and you absolutely cannot get the hand wet. So we got a cover, put it all on and the hand still got wet.

"I'd been quite strong up until this moment and I just burst into tears and we ended up back in A&E that night because I'd bloody soaked the hand.

"I felt like a terrible mum. How had they given me one instruction to not get the hand wet, and I'd got the f***ing hand wet.

"I went back to A&E on my own, because Rio had to go to work, and the woman must've thought I was pathetic.

"I just burst into tears. I couldn't stop crying. But that feels like a lifetime ago now."

It comes after Kate showed off her growing baby bump after announcing she and Rio are expecting a second child.

Taking to Instagram, Kate apologised to her fans for being quiet as she had "time out" with her family.

"How we managed to keep Crees hand sand & water free I will never know, but our little solider still had the best time," she added.

Kate looked stunning as she wore a white bikini while holding her bump as she watched the sunset.

She also shared a sweet snap of her and former footballer Rio, 44, in the sea and of the kids playing together.
