Katie Price has emotionally opened up about not being able to see her youngest children as she details her mental health struggles in a new Channel 4 documentary, Katie Price: Trauma and Me.
The former glamour model explores her own struggles with mental health and the downward spiral that led her to trying to take her own life.
Katie has previously shared that she tried to take her own life before seeking help at the mental health hospital, the Priory.
The mum-of-five opened up about reaching a terrible low some years ago, but the thought of her children – Harvey, Junior, Princess, Jett, and Bunny – helped to pull her through.
‘I tried to kill myself before I ended up in the Priory,’ Katie said. ‘The only reason I didn’t was because of my children. So, if my kids weren’t here, I wouldn’t be here today. Fact. The kids saved me.’
Now, Katie explores her mental health further, and emotionally shares the effects of not being able to see her two youngest children, Jett, nine, and Bunny, eight.
She shares the two with ex-husband Kieran Hayler, who Jett and Bunny currently live with.
In the documentary, according to Mail Online and other publications, Katie tells viewers: ‘The hardest thing I’ve had to deal with in the recent months is having limited access to some of my kids.
‘Recent events have meant I’m seeing my youngest children less and the relationship between me and their father has broken down.’
She adds: ‘It’s not good for my mental health and it’s certainly not good for their mental health.
‘They should be having their mum in their life. At the moment I’m stuck in this rut with Jett and Bunny and it is frustrating for me.
‘You know, seven months, how has it even got to this? It’s heartbreaking and I just wish it wasn’t like this. All I can do is hope that this won’t be forever.’
Katie elsewhere admits regretting sending messages to Kieran’s fiancée Michelle Penticost, in which she branded her a ‘gutter s**g’ and was charged with breaching a restraining order.
Sharing a picture of Michelle and Katie’s daughter Bunny in matching outfits, Katie says: ‘When your head’s all like this and they’re playing happy families with my kid, that’s enough for a mother to go through, let alone everything else I’m trying to go through.’
She later reveals that her five children were the only thing keeping her alive when she attempted to take her own life.
‘All I saw was the kids’ faces and I never want that to happen again.’
Katie Price: Trauma and Me airs Thursday, September 8 at 9pm on Channel 4.
