Khloe Kardashian's 11 year old niece Penelope has found it hard to be around cheating Tristan Thompson, a new episode of The Kardashians reveals.
In the latest instalment from the reality show streaming on Disney+, Penelope's mum Kourtney Kardashian hints at the discomfort she feels around Khloe's ex.
NBA star Tristan had cheated on Khloe when she was pregnant with their first child, True, and also kissed another woman on a night out.
But while the pair tried to patch up their relationship, things finally fell apart when it emerged that Tristan had secretly fathered another child while beginning a surrogacy process with Khloe.
One scene from the latest Kardashians episode showed Kourtney calling out to her daughter: "P, Koko’s going to come grab you on the golf cart. Tristan’s with them. Is that okay?"
Penelope, who was off camera, replied: "Yeah, I’m fine."
Kourtney then explained to camera: "I feel like she gets it from me. I told her the first day of school, I was so triggered by him."
Although the reality star tried to claim she "didn't know why" she felt that way, she eventually admitted that she did but that the whole family often tried to "brush off" the situation.
Talking about Tristan's "horrible decisions", Kourtney continued: "There’s times I’m so triggered by him I can’t be around him. And then there’s times when I just let it go because we just want harmony. He’s the father of my niece and nephew."
Meanwhile, Khloe also opened up on her feelings about her ex, saying that she felt "proud" of the point that she had been able to get to in allowing him to be a father to their shared children.
But she said that she didn't expect her family to make an effort with Tristan, saying: "If Penelope has her feelings about Tristan, rightfully so. Good for you, girl.
"I want Penelope to have these feelings and I don’t want to talk her out of them, because I don’t want this behaviour to be something I’m validating or I’m justifying. I want her to know that how she’s feeling is the right way to feel.
"We should not accept someone treating us like this."
Elsewhere this series, Kourtney and Kim have been shown rowing over a secret family WhatsApp group that does not include Kourtney.
Kim also claimed that Kourtney's own children had come to her with problems about their mum in a fraught phone call between the sisters.
A tearful Kourtney said: "It's you and my friends and my kids and everyone against me. You're just a f***ing witch and I f***ing hate you."
