Coronation Street star Kym Marsh is said to have removed Scott Ratcliff’s name from her Instagram bio in the wake of their split.
The actress, best known for playing Michelle Connor in the ITV soap, has reportedly parted ways with husband of 19 months Scott, and is said to have updated her social media biography accordingly.
News of the couple’s split was first reported last week, with work commitments having allegedly contributed to the breakdown of their relationship.
Kym is currently starring in the revival series of Waterloo Road, hosts BBC One daytime show Morning Live and recently competed in Strictly Come Dancing, making it all the way to the Quarter Finals. Scott, meanwhile, is an Army Major.
A source said: ‘They both really tried to make it work, but the cracks have been there for a while.’
The couple is said to have only been able to see each other once or twice a week.
Kym lives in Cheshire, while Scott’s barracks are based down south, which also created problems, a source told The Sun.
‘They had a trial separation earlier this year and were hoping to get things back on track but they’ve decided it’s best to go their separate ways.’
Kym has now updated her Instagram bio, according to The Mirror, to remove ‘wife to Scott’.
It now reads: ‘Mum to David, Emilie, Polly and Archie. YaYa to Teddy, Polly and Clay. Actor, presenter, singer.’
Kym, 46, left Coronation Street over three years ago, after her character joined forces with Vicki Jeffries (Kerri Quinn) to expose Robert Preston’s (Tristan Gemmill) cheating.
Robert was subsequently killed in the Christmas shooting, which left Michelle feeling rather guilty, with subsequent scenes seeing her wave goodbye to the eponymous street.
