Love Island in chaos as show is forced to stop filming and islanders are shut in the villa | The Sun

LOVE Island was thrown into chaos after torrential rain saw the islanders shut inside the villa.

Insiders working on the hit ITV2 show told The Sun how the filming outside was cancelled because of the bad weather – leaving the contestants locked away in the dry.

The incident is not the first time weather played havoc on the show – with high winds causing issues at the start of filming last month.

A show source said: “The weather in South Africa has been a nightmare over the past 24 hours.

“The rain was torrential yesterday and it meant that filming any scenes outside had to be put on ice.

“Instead the islanders were shut away inside the villa.
“It isn’t ideal for the producers as what viewers want to see is the sexy stars in their bikinis lounging by the pool – not sitting around inside.

“Luckily the storm passed and the weather is supposed to be back to balmy temperatures tomorrow.”

The Sun revealed how on the show’s launch night gale force winds caused problems in the villa.

Crew fought to film in the 50mph gusts which buffeted the swish £1.2million mansion.

A source said at the time: “ITV have big plans for this series to be more epic than ever, and were really excited about Maya Jama’ss big arrival on the helicopter so thank God that footage was all in the can before the winds crept up.

“But by the time it came to filming in the evening it had really kicked up a gear. It caused mayhem.

“Every department was affected — sound, lighting, cameras, wardrobe.

“None of the Islanders expected to be shivering around the fire pit either, but it came into its own.”

In tonight’s episode fans will see the stars in sunnier times – and it’s heating up again between Tanya Manhenga and Shaq Muhammad.

Their romance hit a rocky patch when she met Martin in Casa Amor.

However Tanya said she realised her feelings when she saw Shaq again and tonight fans will watch as she tries to tell him how she feels.

Sitting together in the villa, she will be seen telling him: “I’m so sorry it took someone else coming in for me to fully realise that I can’t lose you.”

While she appears to have been able to get Shaq back on side, Tanya will have to face off with Martin.

During a teaser for tonight’s show, which airs on ITV2 and ITVX, Martin is seen telling Olivia and Maxwell Samuda: “I look like an idiot.”

Tonight he will also be seen confronting Tanya over what has happened between them and Shaq.

Walking towards Shaq and Tanya, Martin is heard saying: “Tanya, can we have a chat?
