Laura Whitmore’s plans revealed as she quits ‘very difficult’ Love Island and BBC radio show | The Sun

LAURA Whitmore quit Love Island last night saying she found parts of the show "very difficult".

She stepped down from hosting the ITV juggernaut just weeks after quitting her BBC Radio job.

The January edition of Love Island has now been removed from her calendar and The Laura Whitmore Show is no more.

But as the star pointed out in her bombshell announcement last night, she has several "new conflicting projects" that clashes with her duties on Love Island.

The first of them will be her West End debut- with the TV presenter recently calling theatre her "first love".

She will appear in the play 2:22 A Ghost Story, where she follows in the footsteps of Lily Allen, Jake Wood and Giovanna Fletcher.

Laura will be taking on the role of Jenny from 6 September and appearing for four months.

Laura told fans on Instagram last night: "Some news! I won’t be hosting the next series of Love island.

"There are certain elements of the show I’ve found very difficult that cannot be changed some due to the format, including the flying back and forth to South Africa along with my new conflicting projects.

"I wish it was still possible but know you’ll be in safe hands. I was only planning to fill in for Caroline for a series and it turned into 3 series.

"I hope I did you proud Caroline ❤️."
