Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) is wondering how truthful Toyah (Georgia Taylor) is being over Imran Habeeb’s (Charlie de Melo) final moments in Coronation Street.
On Monday, Toyah left Weatherfield after viewing CCTV footage that proved she deliberately crashed her car last week.
The video evidence was enough for DS Swain to argue that Toyah wanted to kill Imran after learning he had paid Ben to lie in court about Abi (Sally Carman) being back on drugs.
Fearing for her future, Toyah lied to Leanne and departed the cobbles in a taxi.
The problem with living on a small street is that everybody knows everybody and soon enough, rumours started to spread about Toyah.
It started with Zeedan (Qasim Akhtar) in Speed Daal, who overheard Adam (Sam Robertson) expressing his concerns to Peter (Chris Gascyone) that Toyah might not be completely innocent in all of this.
Zeedan then told Alya (Sair Khan), who then paid a visit to Leanne and wondered if she knew more about Toyah being questioned by the police.
Keeping up?
Determined to defend her sister, Leanne confronted Peter – who pointed out some important information.
Peter reminded Leanne that when there’s a baby involved in Toyah’s life, her behaviour changes dramatically.
Leanne knew Peter was right and opened up to Nick (Ben Price) later on.
Leanne admitted she can’t help but wonder if Toyah crashed on purpose, knowing if Imran revealed the truth during their car journey, the thought of losing Alfie so soon after Elsie would be too much to deal with.
But unbeknownst to Leanne and Nick, Toyah was in her flat with the curtains shut and the lights off, sobbing her heart out.
So, where does this leave Toyah?
Will she be left on her own if Leanne believes she crashed deliberately?
