Loose Women faced calls to be taken off the air on Thursday amid the news Queen Elizabeth’s health has taken a turn.
The Monarch, 96, is under medical supervision at Balmoral after doctors became ‘concerned’ for her health.
Prince Charles is by her side, while Prince William and Camilla are understood to be travelling to Balmoral to be with her.
Certain channels interrupted their regular scheduled programming to break the news, however ITV’s Loose Women continued on as normal, without announcing the new development.
The panel discussed whether children are too easily offended and hosted interviews with TV chef Andi Oliver and Coronation Street star Georgia Taylor as the shock news spread.
Viewer reactions online ranged from the baffled to the incense, with some calling the decision not to interrupt the programme as ‘insensitive.’
‘BBC – breaks it’s regular programming to tell us the breaking news … However – #LooseWomen are still jabbering on about themselves. Come on @itvstudios the queen is more important than these women,’ one angry viewer wrote.
Another confused fan asked: ‘Don’t want to be a doom monger. But surely loose women would’ve been told what’s happening with the queen right?’
And yet another demanded: ‘Take this off air, Her Majesty’s taken a bad turn … #LooseWomen.’
‘Seems a little insensitive from ITV to not put #LooseWomen on hold over the news about the Queen,’ another argued.
Some disagreed however, with one saying: ‘So the Queen is poorly … we can not do anything about it other than wait and see… so don’t understand the calls to go off air.’

‘The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.’
Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle interrupted normal proceedings to tell MPs: ‘I know I speak on behalf of the entire House when I say that we send our best wishes to Her Majesty the Queen and that she and the royal family are in our thoughts and prayers at this moment.’
New prime minister Liz Truss said: ‘The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime.
‘My thoughts – and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom – are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time.’
