Lorraine Kelly’s stylist Mark Heyes has responded to a brutal swipe on the ITV show after he was branded “the fat controller from Thomas the Tank Engine”.
During Friday’s (June 17) instalment of the popular daytime talk show, the professional fashion expert dressed up to the nines as he reported live from the Ascot Races.
The TV hunk donned a black tuxedo complete with a top hat and a summery yellow tie as he shared his slew of gorgeous outfits perfect for a day at the races including a slew of floral prints, pastel trouser suits and breezy dresses.
But the TV star couldn’t shake the cruel insult he received this morning before he made his way to the racecourse to interview some of the best dressed stars at the star-studded event.
He told the 62-year-old Scott how his young nephew was less impressed with his ensemble after he compared him to the BBC children’s character.
As Lorraine welcomed him back to the show, she couldn't help but compliment her colleague on his stand-out outfit on air.
She said: "Fashion now, and we are back with Mark Heyes at the Royal Ascot, oh you look so [good], I love you in that top hat – it's fantastic."
He replied with: "Do you like it? Well, I'm gonna take that compliment because my nephew, three-year-old Spencer, genuinely thinks that I'm the fat controller because he's so obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine.
"So I'm going to take that you think I look nice, I'm getting paranoid," he confessed.
It comes after the TV host revealed how she fooled fellow dieters in order to stay anonymous when she used the WW – formerly Weight Watchers – app to help her lose the pounds she gained over the lockdown period.
She explained to the Metro: "I knew I needed a bit of help, so I joined WW and with the help of others and the app I dropped two dress sizes and managed to get back into my size 10s at the end of January.
"Being able to get back into my size 10 jeans was a big deal! I must have put on more than a stone and a half – I was about 11st 10lbs – but for me, it was not just about fitting into my posh black frock that wouldn't go over my bottom but about being happy in myself.
"Some of them know but on WW my user name is Lorraine and a few numbers and my profile is Angus my dog, so many people didn't realise."
